  • Gary Parker haha, he's coaching at Celtic now

  • HAPPY DAYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @djm151071 I was about to post the same thing about the second Parker goal being typical Forest under Clough, and for a while under Frank Clark similarly. That was maybe one of Forest's best ever goals though.

LOL! The Zanussi, Ariston, Leland DAF, Freight Fover, Zenith Data Systems makita super duper cup!

    I don't miss 80's football at all.

  • We were banned from entering the European Cup in the 1980s and had to make do with this, some reject from a silverware shop :S

It's like putting; Chelsea, United and Arsenal into the LDV Vans Trophy and barring them from the Champions League.

The Full Members Cup or 'Simod Cup' was an English football cup competition held from 1985 to 1992. The competition was created after the Heysel Stadium disaster, when English clubs were banned from European competition, as an additional competition for clubs in the top two divisions (but not the top six from 198485 in the 198586 season as these played in the Super Cup).

  • What was the simod cup?

  • One of the most under-rated English players of the last twenty years.

Parker's second in this match is one of my favourite goals ever. It sums up the Forest ethos under Brian Clough. One moment they're in trouble on the edge of their own six yard box; two passes (Clough jr's touch is sublime) and one long run and finish later, the ball's in the net at the other end. I still get goosebumps watching it now.

Lucky for Garry it was Paul Bracewell chasing him as he wasn' t the quickest. ;-)

  • I second that opinion.

  • In my opinion, Garry Parker is the greatest footballer ever.
