What a fantastic performance, close to 3 hours long and loved it all the way. With the current band line up of Edgar Froese (Original founding member) Linda Spa (sax, flute, keyboards), Iris Camaa (percussion, V-drums), Bernhard Beibl (guitar) and Thorsten Quaeschning (keyboards) and Hoshiko Yamane (violin). We were entertained with the more recent offerings from TD. Regrettably due to theatre rules I was stopped from videoing this performance after just 30 seconds of the concert starting. I was allowed to continue with stills however using mild telephoto the aperature was up at f5.6 and had to use iso 1600 to get anything over 1/30 sec exposure. As you can see the whole set was backlit and low power so filming was very difficult ( should have taken the lumix LX5 with f2 lens!) The track selected here is LOGOS 2011 from the cupdisc released to coincide with this performance.

  • Sounds good, thanks for sharing. How was the sound in the first set from where you were sitting? Down the front it was distorted, murky and too bassy not to mention difficult to pick out the violin, flute and guitar! 2nd set and encores much better sound quality though I thought. I spoke to the sound guys at the interval to see if things could be improved. Check out my up close video of Edgar's guitar solo on my profile page...

  • @tangfanirl The sound, as you say was less than perfect. Lots of background interference and distortion. I still maintain these were studio tracks and they were playing along to them. The percusssion was a case in question as the drum rythyms were not those being played! But still an enjoyable night. Lucky you didn't get clocked with the video. I was stopped afetr just 40 seconds of the show starting!

  • great stills..... thanks

  • Is that an Arturia Moog Modular V I can see on the right hand Monitor at the back? that's a good endorsement if ever there was one

  • logos my favorite. :)

  • The ultimate line up for most TD fans is Froese, Franke and Schmoelling/ Baumann , some of their best works were from that period.

  • You can't be 'StucK in the past.... You consistantly have to 'Blaze" new trails... If you want to evolve as a Band or Musician.... Nothing wrong with a "New" twist on old 'Standards" as long as you stay true to your roots.... There is simply only "One" "Tangerine Dream".... And there will never be another as such.... One must evolve and 'Experiment" with "New" Sounds and Push the envelope... And "Tangerine Dream" is doing such.... Some become "Legends" and some become followers....

  • Beautiful pictures of a fantastic evening, I too loved every minute of it, it was a privilege to be there and see them for a second time, last time round being at the Apollo back in the 90's, which was also an amazing gig. I have some vids uploaded from the night too if you're interested. Mine were taken on a Lumix TZ8. Cheers for the upload :)

  • fantastic version, an update of logos amazing. :)

  • @ghough12 thanks very much
