White Stripes do a fantastic cover, a different style but just as good I think.

Son House singing Death Letter sends chills up and down my spine, every time I hear it. Interesting verse in there about loving four different women; I hadn't heard that one before in this song. Blues slide purists who assiduously avoid knocks and hisses and extraneous noise might disapprove of this style. For me, it adds power and character. Thank you so much for posting this rare and priceless footage.

it kills me that percussive blues picking is dead the way booker white or son house played really exemplifies that.

robert johnson had to sell his soul to play like that, mr. son house plays the blues WITH his soul.
