4 May 1940. A German bombardment of less then a quarter of an hour destroys the centre of Rotterdam. The city burns for days. Later the periphery of the bombardment is coined: Fire Boundary. To mark this event 70 years later the bombardement is remembered by giant spotlights on Square 1940, where a statue of Zadine symbolises the city without a heart. Music: Arvo Part
