It was a disgusting perversion of those who were stupid in ancient stupid times that killing someone could be a good deed for someone else. Perhaps it stems from a time when someone had to die because there wasn't enough food or someone had to die to defend the tribe from aggressors.

Either way, it is absolutely inexcusable to defend this insanity in this day and age.

Religion has held a taboo but this belief is not worthy of any kind of respect and is instead worthy of ridicule and contempt.
