This is me playing one of the songs off In Flames' last album A Sense of Purpose. Ok album, but the riffs in this are great, and challenging! Thanks to my not so pro equipment, some parts are oddly mixed, but hey, 'whatevs'. Enjoy. All guitar played by me and drums programmed with guitar pro 5.I can't want to cover some stuff from their NEWEST ALBUM THOUGH! Which by the looks of it is Clayman + Come Clarity + Whining Anders = Sounds of a Playground Fading.

thanks a alot dude :) With all my covers, I start off knowing one riff that I like, and then just casually learn and instantly record the other bits without practice, that's why some parts are just so much tighter than the others. Guess I should nail the riffs first before posting :) Thanks, and I'll keep in mind the pickups next time.

  • Yeah I agree it doesn't exactly sound smooth in :55-1:03 - My suggestion would be keep practicing the riffs; And judging by the sound of the original track, on the "top" part of the lead, the knob is indeed set to the other, more mellow pick-up of the guitar, so that would be a good start.

  • PS: Incase somebody has some time on their hands, I have a question for you viewers! With regards to guitar tone/ recording guitar, what could I do to make my guitar playing a lot more smoother and clearer in a section like 0:55 - 1:03 ?

Schehf for example (probably youtube's most famous in flames enthusiast) does it beautifully. Do I turn down the tone knob on the lead parts to make it less choppy? It would mean a alot if you took the time to comment :) thanks guys, and defo more In flames soon
