A rare 45 instrumental from 1959; "Gazachstahagen" by the Wild Cats. Released on the United Artists label with the flip side song "Billy's Cha Cha". Went to #57 back in 1959.
"Gazachstahagen" was a nonsense word used by Dick Clark back in the early American Bandstand days. He would say, "...and all of that gazachstahagen."
Pronounced "ga-zah-stah-hagen".
The Wild-Cats were discovered by guitarist Billy Mure and consisted of Dennis Gorgas (guitar), Frank Rainey (organ) and Pat Piccininno (drums). They had at least one other single in '59, "King Size Guitar/Dancing Elephants" on United Artists (169). They also had an LP in '58 on United Artists (3031) featuring Billy Mure called Bandstand Record Hop. (Image here: http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=53886&d=118...)
