Thomas Lang- Meinl Drum Festival 06': Part 4

All I can say is wow. Thomas is really, really pushing the limits on this one. I mean aside from the overall amount of control and dextarity he has is matched grip, he is innovating and really pioneering new ideas and methods for blast beats and double bass patterns to be played. Seriously, anyone who plays a great deal in those genre's of music (death metal, black metal, grindcore, hardcore etc. etc.) needs to really grab a notepad and a pen and really take some notes haha. X)

don't know what your smoking,most metal drummers are very versatile.not liking the music is one thing but you should certainly have respect for what these guys bring to the table!

All i wanna say is im sick of all you dudes saying "Oh this guys good but i think this guy is more tight". Fucking just have respect for what each drummer does. Thomas Lang is a great example of being somebody who is AMAZING at what they do and what they wanna drum. I dont give a shit to who is better or not. Go show off all your knowledge somewhere else, or make use of YOUR amazingness and post a video that is at least half as good as this.

TL is one of my faves. Amazing stuff here! I also love Gavin Harrison, Virgil Donati, Marco Minnemann etc. There are alot of awesome prog and metal drummers out there as well as Fusion and jazzers like Dave Weckl, Vinnie Coliauta, Peter Erskine..How about Dom Famularo?? But back to this vid...W O W!!!

I agree with you on some of that. But Thomas Lang does have some other styles of genre. Try to listen to some of his earlier music or records he's recorded on. Also he does have a unique thing too. He use alot of pedals to create osinatos and thing. But in agreement metal most metal drummers do suck
