installation instructions and specs for complete information.

Today we are going to install part number 65031 from Draw-Tite, and we are going to install this on a 2005 Toyota Tundra pickup. To begin our install, let us take a few pieces off the vehicle. First off, this tow hook right here has to come off it will stay off. This skid plate right here, that will have to come off and stay off. And then this hook over here, this loop or tie-down has to come off, also. This bolt here and here and there are two back here that come out and allow the shield to come down. Next we will install the hitch on existing weld nuts. It is a good idea to have an extra set of hands because it is kind of heavy and kind of wide. Once we have the hitch installed by the factory bolts I am sorry, with the factory holes then we use the hitch as a template to drill out the last two remaining holes. All right, what we will do from here on out is, we will go ahead and snug the bolts down, lock the hitch into position, and we will start our drilling. The hitch will mark where our holes are going to be drilled at. Again, we will use it for a template. We will start off with a 1/4-inch drill bit to make a pilot hole, and then we will follow it up with a 1/2-inch bit. And this is the other one right here.

Next we are going to install our handle nut here. And this handle nut has a flexible handle so you can maneuver it in whatever shape you can to get to the hole that we are going to run our bolt through. Essentially, this handle and the nut is going to go through this hole. We are going to bend the shape to fit above this hole right here and then run our bolt into it. So you take it and just bend it like so, and then that allows you to maneuver the nut over the hole and thread your bolt. You do the same thing for the other side. Then we will just snug up our bolts and then give them their final torque. All right, we will give the bolts their final torque, as specified in the instructions. That concludes our install of part number 65031 from Draw-Tite.
