This is a movie about me basically just walking around the Enterprise and exploring. The purpose of this movie was to create a virtual set and composite myself into it. I am happy with the results although I know that I made some mistakes during my green screen filming.

All of the interior ship scenes were created using still photos which I added lights, animated computer panels, flashing buttons, and animated doors to which took alot of work and I am the most pleased with that.

The explosion scene could have been better but it was a quick render.

  • I thought a site to site transport was when you were not using the transporter pad at all. Like transporting from the bridge to engineering.

  • I think you are correct on that :)

  • okay, nice idea. my suggestions:

    * better color grading. you have to match the colors of your character to the environment.

    * shadows. at some positions are they missing - it's the first thing that is noticed.

    * add camera-movement! use compositions that are larger than your delivery format and than add wiggles, short camera pans and use motion blur with it!

consider these things for your next tests and it'll be great!

  • Thx, someone else already beat you to the shadows suggestions, an easy fix. I won't add wiggle unless I an simulating weapons fire or something. The camera pan I will add though as it will look more like the show.

  • Great work, especially the bridge animations. May I ask what you used to animate the 3D exterior shots of the Enterprise?

  • Blender
