I feed Pi-Chi a combination of high proteine seeds and live meal worms which I bought at my neighborhood pet shop where Pi-Chi's brother is staying. Pi-Chi likes the worms best (of course). Sometimes I worry because Pi-Chi will not eat anything. I wonder if it is because he senses that he is not being fed by his real mother. So I try to whistle like a bird to convince him to eat. I feel funny doing it but it does work. Pi-Chi opens his beak wide so I can feed him.

  • ALL PEPALE I HAVBE A NEST A MUD SWALLOW BIRDS!!

    (Story)

In my town there is a bridge full of nest and 1 nest hade 5 birds and the mother was dead by 15 or 16 year old basterds so i took them home and there almost ready to fly!

  • Bravo! I commend you on your good heart and generosity!

  • grasshoppers are probably better than mealworms, but ideal would be flies you breed from maggots.

  • Yes. I managed to catch a few grasshoppers and feed them to him.

  • Can I feed a baby swallow with grasshoppers??

  • Sorry I missed your question! Yes, you can feed it with grasshoppers at an early age to get them used to doing that but I recommend that you chop the insect into two or three pieces. At least until the bird is grown up.

  • Yesterday evening all petstores were closed, so I fed him some ants... He really liked them do. He spend the night in a cage on a water jar, so he woudn't get cold. But what do you think is the best place to keep him in?

(Sorry for my bad english, I'm dutch I can't help it :P)

  • Thanks fot all your tips! Yesterday I found a Swallow on the ground. Only a day old or so... I hope he's gonna grow up just like yours did!

  • Thank you for your concern. Don't worry. He was alright. This woollen sock was the only thing I could find that would be soft, light and would keep warm enough to "simulate" his natural mother. It worked. Every time I moved the sock, he would try to get back underneath it just like he would with his natural mother.

  • cute but he looks like hes getting hurt by the black thing.

  • OMG ITS SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok thanks!!
