I'm not a christian, but this song is touching.

Have you ever seen Dustin Kensrue's interviews?
-
Doesn't matter where his inspiration came from, it's an incredible song. Take it in whatever way speaks to you
-
Dustin.. you rock man, godbless

ok, your right ha god is included in everything, but its not like they are supporting any specific religion they take inspiration from the bible, its the most popular book in the world so it effects culture. They are taking inspiration from the book not from god, although they could, the bible is on some required reading lists in university as a work of literature. and even though the bible is "gods book" it doesn't mean that you cant agree or like what it says even if you dont believe in god.

Accccctually, I might agree with you, and I'm a Christian! Take the story of Job. Job suffers IMMENSELY throughout his story (many servants are killed, most of his livestock are stolen, all his children are crushed to death in their house). He gives all the credit to God (not Satan), and clearly everything has not exactly gone well. And at the end of the story, after his 3 friends tried to convince him over and over that he was plain wrong, God looks on Job's comment with favor. Funky, eh?

Funny thing about what you said there "not from God, but from everything" Doesn't everything include God?
It's kind of hard to ignore that "Come all you weary" is a direct line from Jesus, "Child of dust" is from Genesis, "image of the invisible" speaks of the "invisible God, in whose image we are made" and that we are more than random matter (carbon and chemicals), but meant for something, with purpose.

people, he has never claimed to be a christian artist. in interviews they say they take inspiration not from god but from everything. he isnt trying to support anything.
-
i talked to dustin about this song. it is about the prodigal son.

i think there are a lot of people that misrepresent Christianity or any belief for that matter. the way i understand it is that God holds us responsible for our actions while the "devil" tries to tempt us. on every occasion in the bible where someone gave in to temptation they were still responsible. does that clear anything up?
in love, john
It saddens me when people thank god for anything. As soon as something goes wrong it's satans fault, and when you accomplish something YOURSELF, you thank god. I just don't understand.
