  • How dry must the wood be to work with the beaner?

  • the dryer the better, if you are in the woods pick small branches or pinecones as you hike and put them in your shirt in a bandana as you hike. the heat from your body as you hike will dry winter branches. you can also try pre heating your beaner with a flash burn of paper or leaves before you load it for cooking. specifically 30% humidity or less.

  • So

For pyrolytic mode (or liquid fuel): no holes in soda can, top ring of holes in stove uncovered

For gasification mode: holes punched around base of soda can, both rings of holes in stove covered

    ?

  • Nope, the holes on the can are about 1cm from the base and the inner machined holes are designed to gasify/pyrolise solid fuel or vaporize liquid fuel. The outer can keeps the overall weight down and is replaceable if it gets banged up. The inner tube is thicker to allow for jetting angles and while it weighs a bit it is almost indestructible. Great questions, keep em coming

  • I would love to do some carbon negative cooking myself-- particularly grillling. Are you guys (World Stove) currently shipping Lucia Stoves in the US for those of us not handy/knowledgeable enough to make our own? The website was a bit sparse and the US sales number there connected directly to a generic sounding voice box...

  • New update: new web page is up and paypal should be working in the next few days.

  • I would enjoy viewing a video of the " PUP " as well.

  • Interesting design. From other sites i have seen this the stove on, one thing is still a little vague.

The top set of recirculating holes (the small ones) on the inner tube, never seem to be in the same place. It's almost as if you need to place a spacer at the bottom to burn alcohol.

The photos & video are a little confusing.

This would make sense for a wood gassifier.

No mention of a spacer though and i doubt a soda can will hold the inner tube tight for long under heat.

  • (seven minutes using only twigs or nut shells, under four minutes if you use liquid fuels)
