Brazil's Top Court Halts Boy's Return to U.S. Dad

Brazil's Supreme Court on Thursday delayed the return of a 9 year old boy to his American father only hours after the man arrived from New Jersey. Now, the child must remain in Brazil until at least February. (Dec. 17)

I can empathize with Mr. Goldman. I am going thru the same ordeal with my two children. The only difference is that it's with a common wealth of the US. The laws in these third world countries are old, outdated and favor mothers regardless of their circumstances. When will the Brazilian courts see that this child was taken under false pretenses and illegally. GIVE THIS CHILD TO HIS BIOLOGICAL FATHER !!!!

I am just saying that once a child has adapted to live in Brazil no matter what he or she may never wanna leave that country.

I did agree that he should stay with his biological father but since this custody battle has been happening for years and the child has matured and doesn't wanna leave that country the father should have given up.

But that was my opinion then now i have a new one. I been keeping with the news ever since this came out public. Cut me a break.

I am an American and believe me i know how it feels to have a custody battle. I been trying to get full custody of my 2 year old son from my trashy ass ex girl friend that do drugs and smokes around my asthmatic son. Believe me as a parent i know how it feels.

The 9 year old father been fighting for this boy for sometime now and all these custody battle is putting pressure on the boy.

Even if that child was to return to his father the child would wanna go back to Brazil in desperation. I will consider that child an emotional loss for the biological father if the Brazilian government denies custody.

If this custody battle takes years i suggest the father gives up because as the child matures he will make hes own choices for himself.
