"Not about a campus; not about a building." True enough. It's all about the Schuller family. Familly dynasty churches never seem to work out. There MUST have been a worthy successor for Robert H. if the church had but sought one.
I absolutely DEPLORE what the Schuller family, especially the kids (read the bankruptcy documents) have done to CC but I must say she is spot-on here.
"coming across like a school teacher" - the churchgoers have been given printed sheets with blank spaces, and Sheila is telling them what words to write in the blank spaces. these are adults, not grade schoolers!
She has a lot of substance and good points but I perceive her as coming across like a school teacher - and no disrespect intended, that may be a GOOD thing.
I certainly agree with Dr. Shelia Coleman that a ministry is not "building dependent." But a ministry is, most respectfully, dependent on positive, effective and honest leadership. Unfortunately, the current leadership's performance has been woefully inadequate in these important areas. For this ministry to grow and survive, new leadership is critical.
I am sorry that Rev. & Mrs. Robert H. Schuller are having a difficult time now. My understanding of how things have gotten to this point is based on a number of sources of information, not just the little that has been shared with the public by Sheila. We are wayfaring strangers, traveling through this world below - and now our steps must take us to another place. Vaya con Dios.
Oh shut up... You are running the church into the ground. Her brother should have been in charge...
