I was listening to a classic edition of "American Top 40 - The '70s" w/Casey Kasem from October 31st, 1970 yesterday. Right before the #8 song "Candida" played, Casey mentions "four guys" made up Dawn, none of which mentioned Tony Orlando, Joyce Vincent & Telma Hopkins, who were actual members of Dawn! I wonder where Casey got his misinformation from? I remember Tony Orlando mentioning in an interview there was a "fake" Dawn performing around the U.S. at the time "Candida" was popular. Strange!

hi sitio san antonio abad, brgy. 8, tuburan, cebu barkadas, remember during our heydays how we danced sa atong piyesta uban nining awita.
Yes, Candida is the name of a yeast, however it is also a proper name for a female, meaning "dazzling white or brilliant". The name was most likely given to the fungus after it was seen under a microscope (many microorganisms are named after their color). So, when listening to the song, lets try to think of a luminous, dazzling woman.... and not a yeast infection. LOL

Me too. I always felt it was all down hill for music after the 70's.
