Baby Great Apes are torn from their mothers and placed into the illegal pet trade. Great apes were never meant to be pets. Please support bans on owning exotic pets. Great apes form strong bonds to their family and babies depend upon their mothers for up to eight years. Please help us to keep them in the wild, with their mothers where they belong.

Great video! Unfortunately the babies are a by-product of the bushmeat trade, logging, poaching, mining, etc. They always kill the mothers and usually the entire family to eat them. It will take a military force to protect them in the wild, in a sanctuary, with 40' walls, surveilance equipment, armed guards and nuclear bombs. Humans are a plague upon this earth and nothing short of our leaving will save these animals.

That's right they are a by product of the bushmeat trade. The babaies are too small to eb used as bushmeat so they are sold into teh pet trade. Don't despair I believe there is hope. If these animals become more valuable alive than dead then we have a chance to save them. I don't believe the people out there are evil people for killing these animals they are just poor. The y need to do what is best for their family. It is up to us, who are better off to help the people and to lead by example!
