Crazier; Chapter 16

Nick's POV
"Come on, pick up the phone, Jen."
I paced in my room, Joe sitting on my bed with his head in his hands. Erica eased into her wheelchair and wheeled over to me.
Erica: Nick, sweetie. Let me try.
I shook my head.
"I need to talk to her. She just stormed out of here, she was mad at me. I have to make it up to her."
Joe: Dude, she's probably upset. You can't blame her for being upset, She has every right.
I dialed her number again, she didn't answer. Kevin and Jewel burst into my room, jumping into our arms. They were trying.
"What happened??!"
Jewel: there w-was a m-man.. he-he
Kevin: he tried to take Jewel. So I stood up to him, he tried to shoot me. The bullet missed my head by an inch.
He looked at the floor, we were all quiet.
Kevin: Police already took us in for questioning, they are trying to find the man in the video tape.
Jewel: If he wouldve killed you Kevin, I sware I would have-
Kevin: Shh.
He held her close.
"I'm going to see Jen. She won't answer my calls.
Kevin: dude.
"No, I need to see her."
I rushed out of my house and towards hers. When I arrived, I put on some cologne to drown out the smell of beer. I knocked on the door, her mom answered.
Mom: Nicholas.
"Please."
She sighed, shook her head and opened the door. I walked upstairs and knocked on Jen's door.
"Babe, please open up."
She didn't answer.
"Jen."
She still didn't answer, I opened the door and looked around. Things were thrown around, glass broken. I saw something that was burning. It was a picture of us.
"Jennifer?"
I looked around and didn't see anything. I turned to walk out of the room, when I heard a thump.

Sarah's POV
The next morning, I awoke to the smell of breakfast. I smiled and stretched awake, going into the kitchen.
"Jakey!"
He was at the stove, cooking eggs.
Jake: I love you.
"That's more like it."
I kissed him on the cheek.
Jake: Why didn't you come to bed last night?
"You told me to stay on the couch."
He shook his head.
Jake: no i didn't.
"Jake, I know what you said."
His face turned red, and fear rose within me. He picked up the steaming pot and swung at me, I quickly ducked down. He threw it on the floor, shattering it. I quickly backed up.
Jake: You're acting like i'm dumb, Sarah. I am not dumb.
"Jake, you are getting out of control."
I started to run up the stairs of the apartment, when I felt him grab my hair. I was jerked back, thrown down the stairs.
Everything went black..

I opened my eyes to a blur, My head felt warm, I opened my eyes fully and looked around. I saw a knife was stuck in the wall next to me. On the knife was a note.
"Sarah,
I love you till you die. I'm gone out for a while, be ready when i get back. I'm taking you out.
Jacob."
I teared up as I grabbed my cell phone.
With unsteady hands, I dialed a number.
A number I never thought I would call again.
