Boston College BEATS Perform for the Winthrop Elementary School

The Boston College BEATS, an a cappella group of student singers, joined students and teachers at the Winthrop Elementary School to help with their winter celebration of the school's Reading is Fundamental program. Through the Lynch School of Education, Boston College works closely with the Winthrop as part of the Step UP iniative, which pairs BC and four other Boston-area universities with Boston Public School partners. Now in its fifth year, Step UP works with students, teachers and principals to deliver targeted supports and enrichment activities designed to help raise academic achievement. They also have a little fun along the way.
