It took me a few times reading it before I realized the thousand-million multiplication. I thought the calculations were way off because the term "million years ago" is rather insignificant in cosmic time. It must be a British Queen's English thing to count numbers this way, like spelling the word 'color' with a 'u'.
I felt such a warm feeling after hearing Rhaana describe the technology behind the satellite at around 3:01 - I never saw it that way before. Her tone of voice makes it so humbling.
