A school forest partnership takes student learning outside the school building—not just into the woods but also into the community, with a service-learning component. Higher education partners provide leadership and professional development support.
This effort in the Goodman-Armstrong School District won a Standing Up for Rural Wisconsin Schools, Libraries, and Communities Award from State Superintendent Tony Evers.
Jeremy Solin of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point gave these off-the-cuff, informal remarks about the project on March 7, 2011.
Other partners in the project include local businesses, agencies, organizations, and community members.
