When you buy an X, you are pretty much buying a sh*it load of potential. Sadly, your Mazda is at its prime.

i think that it would take a little more then $500 for straight line. And if just exhaust and intake is prime... i hope that you are joking. thats not tuned no engine management system, not even getting into building engine and upgrading turbo. and a sh*# load of potential for $40K i would expect a little more.

Regarding SRT4s they have to have some good work done to keep up with speed3s stock.

You are kidding, right?

EVOs and STIs when stock are NOT fast from a roll. AWD has the highest parasitic loss out of all the drivetrain configurations, while FWD is the most efficient. Compare the TRAP speed in the 1/4 mile with these two vehicles.

That EVO is probably dynoing 260AWHP while the Mazda isn't far behind but it weighs less.

@nikolaspeed3 so true. If you spend the difference between 23k and 40k on the speed3 to match the price of the Evo the Evo would never even come close in speed or handling

@ApexIXMR you shouldnt talk if youve never been in a mazdaspeed 3. its a quick car and yes stock vs stock the evo has it beat but you also have to realize that the evo is about 10,000$ more and it takes a turbo back exhaust and an intake, (about $1,000) to make the speed3 faster. and yes of course the evo has more potential in the longer run. if you want to make it a track car. but you cant hate on the mazda just because it 23k brand new and can keep up with your car. HA

They really aren't that fast from a roll when stock, guy. The X is slower than the IV.

I pulled on stock Evo 8s with my last vehicle and it was one of the last vehicles on earth that you would ever expect that to happen with.
