I've just realised, I had an old fairytale book with this story in it
Execept It's not called coat of many colours but Donkeyskin, in the story she hides her appearence from the prince by wearing the coat made out of a donkey's skin, the donkey belonged to her father and she said I want the donkey's skin, thinking that her father wouldn't grant her wish because he loved the donkey, but in his determination to marry her he executed the donkey
Well that's the differences
