(November 18, 2009) Is it time for the U.S to accept China's equality? President Obama makes a historic trip to China, stressing the importance of China as partner in economics and climate change. While media characterized the visit as a debtor treading lightly with its creditor, the reality of the trip may prove to be the emergence of another superpower.

  • People can cry, whine and complain all they want, however reality is that China WILL be the superpower sooner or later.

They are developing faster than any other country in history not just their economy, so let's face it nobody in this world is eternal(America is no exception)

If the chinese know how to play their cards they'll become superpower in 7-9years maybe.

  • INDIA IS A JOKE

    LOL

  • @GuardianoftheSource Yes I would have agree a few years back then...but today (this year) they do have their own corporations suck as Huawei, Baidou, Sangyong. I've seen these corporations before so again...it's a matter of time when they stop depending on foreign corporations as you say and their time to become develop is not so long as you think it is.

  • @GuardianoftheSource when China had the biggest GDP production 18 of the last 20 centuries, there wasn't even a usa, when China trading on the Silk Road, europe was suffering plague. China could do with or without the west and usa. don't flatter yourself, when usa disappear like Roman empire and Spartans, China will be there. haha

"TOO BAD FOR YOU. MADE IN CHINA'S PRODUCTS ARE TOO GOOD FOR EVERYBODY TO RESIST. MANY NATO COUNTRIES ARE CLOSER TO TRADE WITH CHINA THEN WITH THE US. GET USE TO BEING NUMBER 2 BEHIND CHINA.. "

I wouldn't consider that nation that is home to nearly every one of the corporations that pay the workers to make the cheap goods number 2. China is a growing nation gaining much wealth yet it is heavily depended on western corporations. Without the west the economy of China would fall.

China is dependent on the corporations of the west.

China has no corporations that are a household name Sony, Microsoft, Cisco, Google, and ect.

China's opening up to free markets has brought tremendous wealth that is wonderful for the country ,however China still has a long way to go before being a developed nation.

More information from CIA fact book provides information that China has a GDP per capita(PPP) of almost 8k compared to the U.S. one of about 47k. A massive difference.

In 2008 China had about 89% of the population receiving drinking water and 55% of the population with proper sanitation. Compared to the western world standard of near 100% in both categories.

You are right that no nation is eternally at the top ,however China is not developing the fastest in history.

According to the CIA fact book on GDP - real growth rate: in 2010. Qatar,Paraguay,Singapore, Taiwan and India had faster growing economies.

  • @suiteno1 Umm... You mean weaker than the British Empire? Or do you mean French Empire? China usually is weaker than others :/
