Sanat: Suutarin tyttären pihalla kasvaa kaunis pihlajapuu. Suutarin tyttären pihalle paistaa keltainen täysikuu. Hanurin hilpeä heläys jossain haikeeksi muuntautuu. Kahdet askeleet maantien puolelta pihalle suuntautuu. Kaunis pihlajapuu, taivaalla täysikuu. Suutarin tyttären pihalta kuulu kuiskaus, "eikö juu?" Suutarin tyttären pihalta kuuluu kuiskaus, "eikö juu?"

Suutarin tyttären pihalla kasvaa kaunis pihlajapuu. Suutarin tyttären pihalle paistaa keltainen täysikuu. Poika on potra ja tytöllä hehkuu sydän, silmät ja suu... Jossakin haikea hanurin soitto vihdoinkin vaimentuu. Narahtaa porraspuu, taivaalla täysikuu. Suutarin tyttären aitasta kuuluu kuiskaus hiljaa "juu" Suutarin tyttären aitasta kuuluu kuiskaus hiljaa "juu"

    Tänä vuonna tulee kuluneeksi 100-vuotta Reino Helismaan syntymästä! Meillä on paikallisen Mieskuoron puitteissa juhlistaa ko.tapahtumaa Reino Helismaa & Tapio Rautavaara laulujen aiheisella Mieskuoro konsertilla 22.04.2013. Reino Helismaan tuotannosta esitämme mm. Päivänsäde ja menninkäinen, Rakovalkealla, Reissumies ja kissa, Reppu ja reissumies ja tietenkin myös Tapsan esittämät laulut Kulkuri ja joutsen ja Kulkurin iltatähti sekä monta,monta muuta. Itse ajattelin laulaa konsertissa tämän!

    Kyllä, .kansan yksityiskohtainen kuvaus tilannetta aitalla, nuorten kohtaaminen .. Elämän jatkuminen . Siinähä se kaikki. No vielä hanurin soitto siihen. No ny on ajat toiset .Aitan tilalla on yksö ja hanurin ..... no joku nykynuorten joku , josta nuoriso tykkää. .En tiijä mikä, mutta jotain.. näin elämä jatkuu...

    Tämän levyn julkinen esittäminen radiossa kiellettiin aikoinaan. Presidentti Paasikiven vaimo Alli Paasikivi oli suutarin tytär. No olihan aihettakin. Siispä piti Repen tehdä laulu uusiksi. Konsulin tyttären pihalla. Kielto kumottiin myöhemmin.

    Kappale on huumorimielessä tehty, mutta minulle se on paljon enemmän. Hanurisoolo on suurin piirtein kauneinta kuunneltavaa, mitä on musiikin alallla saatu aikaan. Kappale kokonaisuudessaan tuo esille suomalaisuuden syviä tuntoja. Repe ei ole mikään ooppera-, eikä edes iskelmälaulaja, mutta hänen rosoinen äänensä nostaa ihokarvat pystyyn. Tämä on ehdottomasti suomalaisen musiikin suurimpia klassikoita. Olen tosissani.
