  • @vanluydweyde your dogs are working too close to each other to train them you should go on a walk through pheasant land wi somebody else holding one dog and you holdin anoher on long extended leads bout 20metres of lead an they will get used to not walkin together thats wat i did

  • cool video ! Great dogs work, excellent before and after flying. All the best from Elba Island, Italy. Ignazio.

  • @tattooshopjunkie Yeah right the rabbit will really hurt it !

I've a Pointer as a pet no way I'd shoot an animal .But live and let live..

  • @leepschkin why shouldn they its a part of pointing so you dont scare the bird far away and you can get closer while the dog is not making any noise learn then comment

  • @coreymolina im not sure about bringing back the animal alive, the rabbit could bite the dog, and injure him. the shorthair is a good retriever.. they have a soft mouth, but will crunch it, if it bites im. we used to train my grandfathers dogs for pheasant, we would take a pheasants wing, and tie it to the end of a fishing pole, and play with the dog for a natural drive for bird. unfortunatly we could never taker the dog fishing, because he also associated fishing with it, and jump after lures.

  • These dogs are very good hunters. They can track and pin Deer for stalking, retrieve pigeons n crows from decoying, Point flush and retrieve game like pheasant and grouse and they have webbed feet and are brilliant retrievers for duck and are big enough for goose!

These days were bred to be a do it all hunting dog! :) Lovely dog mate

  • The best hunting dog we ever had was a french brittany, and we had some before...

It's simply amazing what he's able to do...

  • The best hunting dog inthe world what a statement, springers are a general hunting dog, ie all rounders, english pointers are a specialist ie grouse and labs pick up. If you want to retreive a goos get a damn big dog, chesepeake springs to mind. My father had ft chps spaniels for 20 years and i ran english pointers on grouse, so i guess i can comment.

  • can these dogs retrieve geese as well as point?

  • nooooooo mate the best hunting dog in the wourld is the springer spaniels ther good on flush on land and water and retrive on land and water and they work in any condtions and never run out of energey
