Planned Parenthood of Indiana's Peer Education program is a great way to equip youth and young adults with factual and complete information about issues surrounding sexuality. This short video gives an overview of the program and talks a little bit about what Peer Educators do. Interested in finding out more? Visit www.ppin.org!
What I heard the educator saying was that Peer Educators may even feel more comfortable speaking to a parent about these difficult issues because of the program. Peer to peer programs have been proven effective by the CDC; for example, there is evidence proving they help lower the rate of HIV transmission. Sounds like a great program to me!

Shouldn't kids be encouraged to go to their parents first?? Not just "maybe even their parents". There is no reason there should be a dis-connection between parents and teens. My mom is my very best friend, so I know that it is possible.
