@nomendegurre Kind of semi-agree with you, but it wasn't the British, it was the WEALTHY and powerful abusing the poor. Ireland's famines for instance were not caused by the 'British', they were caused by the wealthy and powerful abusing their positions, most of whom were British - however many Irish wealthy and powerful were also involved in the pillage of their own people. Many people aren't even aware that English people also had famine in 1800's.
