http:ww.inspiredbymichelle.com.au how to make a quick and easy sugar peony or open rose flower. This video is in two parts. This really is an easy flower to make and at the end of part 2 I show examples of finished cakes using this sugar flower. You can also see examples on my website www.inspiredbymichelle.com.au and blog www.inspiredbymichelleblog.com.
I hope you find this useful. Have fun cake decorating.
Bye for now, Michelle

  • The tool you are using at the end to move the petals around what is that called and where can I buy one from ??

    Thank you

  • @mrspanno1 Hi, it is a metal scribe but I often use a wooden skewer or toothpick

  • Thanks so much for this video tutorial Michelle. I have started a small at home cake business inspired by my Mum who decorated when I was a girl. I always love to learn new things. Your website is so fantastic. One question...when you 'wet brush' your shimmer, do you use rose alcohol mixed with the shimmer & just brush?

Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent!

  • @LizzieS001 yes you can.

  • Thank you Michelle, for sharing this video. I am a cake decorator in Canada. would you perhaps share with me what type of butter-cream you use and how you get it to be so smooth? I usually use Italian Meringue and it doesn't look as nice as you cakes do.

Hi Jeanette, I do not use buttercream on my cakes - they have chocolate ganache underneath rolled fondant.
