  • bios low? i have the last version the A03 and i turn the harddrive from bypass to performance mistykittie i did what you say but doesnt resolve the problem

  • is 5400rpm but the celeron computer is 5 or 4 years old so maybe it have also a 5400rpm hardrive

  • delete your windows boot up cashe, it will make it start up in like 5 seconds.

    my computer>local disk (c:)>windows>prefect

delete everything in the prefect folder, but do not.. i repeat do not delete the prefect folder. so delete evertyhing in the folder but not the actual folder itself! hope this helps. bye

  • Firstly you shouldn't count the bios stage of the boot time because this has really nothing to do with your ram hdd or cpu. Timing the boot from first moment the load bar appears on xp takes the dell 39sec to get to the msn window - PC takes 38 secs. The speed of the harddrive is the key factor. The PC prob has 7800rpm. Even if it had 5400 rpm it would read faster because the disk is bigger meaning the outer edge traveling faster than laptop's. PS the guy below probably meant "slow" bios.

  • Duo is better but the duo probely had tons of programs and the celeron dident.

  • I cant believe this! How... celeron wins?

    Isn´t better core 2 duo?

  • celarpn is def cheaper core duo is way better

  • lol drugs are bad mmkay

  • Thats just the startup programs basically, it would be safer to just use msconfig to disable them.

  • Whats the power settings on the laptop? that always affects the performance.

  • Both of the pc's are slow.

  • Desktops will always be faster even if they have 5400RPM drives

  • nod32 forever

  • The celeron bios is more faster than the dell bios becaouse is different, if you try with the same bios we will belive in that intel core 2 duo is more faster
