Drop-In Replacement Printing

Drop-In Replacement Printing is enabled by an Alternate Programming Language (APL) software solution that resides in a Zebra printer. This enables Zebra to be a drop-in replacement for a competitive printer.

Zebra currently offers the following basic APL versions: APL-I (Intermec) APL-D (DataMax) APL-O (O'Neil)

Zebra Development Services can customize these basic APL versions to meet specific application requirements. We have also created custom APL solutions for many other competitive printers such as TEC, Sato, Monarch/Paxar and HP LaserJet.

With drop-in replacement printing, users won't need to rewrite existing label formats when upgrading to Zebra printers. This reduces integration time and complexity.
