  • Alright tough girl, I want to see you bicycling along Lake Michigan in January, with a good wind, and snow as well preferably. Love your videos btw.

  • @inkydoug - I'm not quite sure what your intended tone is with this comment, but I have done exactly that at least 200 times going to work and back. Well, not always in January, but in winter. If you're simply requesting a video of such, I plan to record the trip sometime this winter.

  • One cool weather idea that's been used by bike racers for about a century is to slide a newspaper under your fleece/jersey when you start out. It'll act as an extra layer of chest insulation and a windbreak at the same time. When you begin to overheat, it's easy to pull it out without even stopping.

  • You are so lovely.

  • How are so many of these comments so bad? Thanks for the cool video, I just linked it to my girlfriend who is a new bicycle commuter.

  • feminine girl.

  • All wrong

  • The scarf is the Key!

  • Haha, you could re-title this, "How a Stylish Newscaster should Dress in Winter" and it would be just as relevant :D I was looking for practical riding clothes for men but your video has given me some good information, thanks!

  • I agree that wool is the best for layering but I can only wear Smartwool (like your socks?) because it doesn't itch. I only have one bike that would allow me to wear a dress like yours.

I prefer Terry Bicycle's Wool Cadence Dress with Smartwool Tights and a GoreTex Bike Wear Jacket with Windstopper. These are breathable, yet warm and look great at the office when you arrive. You also won't need quite that many layers. Well done, happy bike commuting!

  • Bike Winter!!!

I really need the wool socks to complete my gear, otherwise I'm set. Great tips.
