Major Snow Storm 12/16/2007

Kingston Ontario was hit hard on December 16th 2007 with it's first Major Winter Snow Storm.
What started off as a lightly falling snow ended as a VERY cold, Very windy near-Blizzard storm.
With 40+ cm's of snow, 60+ km/h winds, white-out visibility and temperatures easily reaching -20°C and colder.. The city, nearly crippled, struggled to maintain it's steady pace.
Traffic was barely moving on most streets and had a hell of a time trying not to slide off the road. Even the slightest turn of the wheel would send you fish-tailing.
On this day myself and the others in the car got stuck in the snow 4-6 times in a 20 minute drive.
The conditions on that day were not only dangerous, but absolutely terrifying!

I live in kingston to. This is nothing compared to this year! its INSANE we just had another snow storm today! 10-15cm! its insane! and a couple days earlier, we had a huge storm we were out of power for like... well 8 hours! and there was lightning in the snow storm! it was rad!

Im not gonna agree that this year is the worst, cause lastyear we didnt have the warm spells we're getting now. It would just snow and snow and snow. And stay SUPER cold.

I remember seeing the lightening in the storm lastweek, and we were out of power for a while too! What area of Kingston are you in?

Ever stop to think that people experience storms differently depending on where they live? This storm was a pretty bad one for Kingston Ontario, and just recently (In feb / march ) we had storms 10x as bad. Thanks for taking the time to actually view the rest of the video.

This winter has been cold and snowy since 14 December last. On 17 December a front dropped 10 cm in Nijmegen, another one, followed by snow squalls brought another 15 cm on Sunday December 20. A light thaw succeeded for a time to penetrate inland and it touched Nijmegen just for a few minutes. This is winter at last. Today, Jan. 2, a small low is approaching with snow, probably in the late afternoon or evening, followed by even colder air.

It may be -10C or lower from tomorrow at night.
