Weingut Fritz Bastian offers a wine tasting of all of his white wines from the Rhine valley. They bring out 13 glasses of wine on a lazy Susan for you to compare and try. Our Hostess from Pension Lettie (Lettie herself) joined us for this evening of fun.

Thank you for posting this. It brings back great memories. Fritz Sr. was my Dad's cousin. We had a carousel on our first visit but it looked much different as the wine was served on a metal tray with tall straight shot glasses of the different wines. The wine was fabulous! Don;t you love the carvings on the wall!

@250gardenwhiz my first visit was back in 1999. The carousel was a bit different back then too. It was on a lazy Susan but Fritz brought out a pamplet about the wines and bread to cleanse the palet. The pamplet was very informative and helpful. It helped you to identify the flavors of the type of soil it was grown in. I left that night with a great story. Slightly buzzed and needing to use the bathroom I ran through the door that said Her.... Thought that the beautifully tiled shower was odd.

It wasn't until I was in the stall that I realized that it was a urinal and the Her was actually Herr and I was in the mens room. LOL.
