What are you doing that causes you to go through this many batteries? Or do you change your smoke alarms when you are supposed to :D

yes the batteries will start to heat up if the power just loops back. I had once put some AA batteries end to end then wrapped a wire around the  back it started to warm up pretty fast. if they are just connected and not looped back its fine but the power will have a feed back loop if you plug them back to the start
