Yes it is. It is a dialect of Arabic. Linguistic research proved it. If it is written in Latin script it does not prevent it from being Arabic. Turkish is written in Latin script but it is a turkik language. We can use any alphabet to write a language. Arabic is a great language and Maltese is like other spoken arabic spoken dialects is the result of culture contact and it is very similar to Tunisian Arabic. The basic structure of Maltese is like Arabic and not like Latin.

Maltese is Tunisian Arabic, Maghrebi Arabic dialects vary

But isn't Adan part of Yemen? Are you saying that Tunisian Arabic is different from Moroccan and Algerian Arabic?

Urdu sounds nothing like Sanskrit, but it comes from Sanskrit. Same here.

Why didn't sing in their language at the Eurovision, maltese must be proud of their first semitic natural language?

actually we thought of sending Joe Demicoli to the Eurovision, but for some people it is useless. if we do go for eurovision next year I would suggest a Maltese Song so all Maltese can have a laugh XD
