It seemed to stay on the same plane but then deviate up and down from time to time. After it disappeared to the north, I left for home. It was a late summer or early fall night, 1987 or 88. I think it was sometime between 10:30p.m. and Midnight. A long time ago now. I was kind of freaked about it. As I drove home, I thought what could it be. I rationalized it as a satellite but now I am not so sure. I have since learned that it could not have been a satellite.
I saw a bright light white stream across the sky in jagged back and forth motions. It was so fast in the sky. I was on the NorthEast Indianapolis looking toward Rock Island refinery. It moved rapidly along the skyline from the south to the north. Then a short burst south and even further north. It moved far south very quickly and disappeared. I remember getting chills and kind of freaking a little then It came back and made some other odd jerky movements.
