@Helge129 Yeah, I was a bit gutted when I realised the amount needed.. sort of puts it waay off into the future unless we get our asses into gear! lol

@dan90555 I don't know if Jupiter is accurate, I'm no astrophysicist, or scientist at all for that matter, I only know that you need craptons of mass and just as many craptons of negative mass for an alcubierre warp drive...hypothetically.
-
@Helge129 Except negative mass is purely theoretical and has no experimental data to say otherwise. And thats assuming that the equations of such a drive are correct, which I doubt they would be. And if negative mass was discovered, then that could make wormholes feasible. And I think Ive read about it requiring bit more than a jupiter.. more along the lines of a sun! (think it was on the wiki page for the Alcubierre drive) lol fingers crossed though.. light is too slow!

@Roadracer987654321 It wouldn't make much sense to use FTL to get to Mars, unless you need to get there ASAP. It's only 8-20 light minutes away, depending on where you are, so even 1% light speed will get you there in a reasonable time. The only somewhat realistic FTL drive so far, would be a Warp Drive, and you need the mass of jupiter in front, and again the mass of jupiter, but in negative mass, behind your ship, each compressed to like a cubic meter or so to achieve that.

If Faster Than Light Propulsion is Ever Discovered or is about to be Discovered. Will we be able to FTL Jump Science probes and Landers out to Mars ? People could be jumped at a later Date.

Dear god, I know that ship 0_0 what in the hell happened??
-
thats what happens when doing a blind jump with the pods out

Poor old girl :S that broke her back.
