In 1986, Senegalese worldbeat musician Youssou N'Dour released his debut album, {^Neslon Mandela}, to critical acclaim. In the years since, N'Dour has become one of the most popular recording artists of African music, collaborating with such American performers as Paul Simon and Branford Marsalis. The 2001 program Youssou N'Dour: The World of Youssou N'Dour comes from Slingshot Entertainment and offers a biographical look at the musician, featuring live performances of some of his best-known songs.
