i ride on these 24/7 since i was kid, never hit me how special it was till i seen this video, i love the city of Boston, every thing about my hometown is historic, from the sports teams to the restaurants to even the MBTA, Boston is truly like a fine wine, only gets better with age
I love this line, the beautifully restored PCCs which serve it, and the people who work on it with all my heart and soul. It's a piece of Boston history which is alive and kicking and serves the public admirably every day!!! I just wish they had kept the old configuration at Ashmont, where it was possible to board the Red Line at platform level.
Note there is a track connection between the subway and this line at the bottom of the incline. I've been told this is used when the PCC is pulled to the shops to be worked on.
This is one of the lines that I wish to ride on someday but unfortunately I rarely take the Ashmont to Mattapan line. In fact, it's been a while since I rode the red line, I mostly take the green line or the bus nowadays since it often gets me to where I want faster than the red line's annoying construction schedules. But in any case, lovely vid. Love to ride one of these someday.

How many PCCs do they run on weekdays? (I mean how many are on the
Mattapan-Ashmont line total).
