I'm Sorry..... (Chapter 10!)

Nick woke me up a few hours later. We got off of the plane and into a few rented SUVs - black with tinted windows, of course. We pulled into the Opryland hotel and dropped off our stuff in our suite. Then we headed down to the Ryman. It was beautiful. As we stepped backstage, I thought back to the Opry tour I took the previous summer. I felt the same rush as years of country music history flew past me. Demi invited me into her dressing room. I wasn't allowed in the boys', according to their parents.
"So, how was the ride here?" Demi asked.
"Pretty good," I replied. "That was my first time on a plane."
"But I thought you'd been here before?" she said.
"Ohh, I have. But we drove. 12 hours in a car with my parents, it wasn't fun."
She laughed. Then she turned to me.
"Do you love Nick?" she asked.
I was taken aback. That was a pretty personal question for having just met.
"Of course I love him. I mean, I know we haven't been together long and this is the first chance we've actually gotten to spend time together, but yes, I love him," I replied.
"Ok, good," Demi answered. "Nick has had some bad relationships. I'm just looking out for him. Don't think I don't like you or anything, I do, it's just me and his brothers are kind of wary about who he dates."
"Well I'm glad to hear you look out for him," I said.
A half hour later was soundcheck. They let me sit in the audience and see how the show was going to look. I could feel myself getting that excited, obsessed fan feeling. I laughed to myself. I knew I was going to have to get past that stage if I wanted to be a good girlfriend to Nick.
The boys played a few songs, and then I was a man walk onstage. At first I didn't recognize him. He was tall-ish, with long-ish brown hair and a five-o'clock shadow. Nick, Joe and Kevin greeted him and then Nick motioned for me to come up to the stage. As I stepped closer, I saw that the man was the one and only Keith Urban! Nick pulled me onto the stage and introduced me.
"Keith, this is my girlfriend Regan. Regan, this is Keith Urban."
I shook his hand and he smiled.
"Pleasure to meet you," Keith said in his sexy Australian accent.
"Pleasure to meet you too," I replied nervously. "I'm a huge fan."
Keith laughed. "Well I'm flattered to have such a pretty fan as you"
Nick smiled and put his hand on my shoulder, almost claiming me. I stepped closer and laid my head on Nick's shoulder.
Suddenly, two other boys walked onto the stage. Both were blonde, about the same height, obviously brothers.
"Zach! Josh!" Nick shouted.
"What's up?" Joe said, hugging Zach.
"Haven't seen you guys in forever!" Kevin laughed, arm around Josh.
"Hey guys! This is Regan, my girlfriend," Nick said. "Regan, these are the Carter Twins."
I shook both Zach and Josh's hands and told them that I was a huge fan.
After becoming acquainted with everyone on stage I resumed my position in the audience. I gazed up at the stage, thinking that the 6 most gorgeous men in the world were gracing it all at once. Keith began playing his hit "Sweet Thing" and Nick, Joe and Kevin joined in in certain places. After Keith, Zach and Josh came back onstage to play "Heart Like Memphis". When Nick sang in certain parts, he looked out into the audience at me. I could see a smile creep onto his face as he sang the words "eyes like the lights of New York City, cool as the Carolina breeze". I smiled back.
After the soundcheck was over, I raced to get backstage. The show was starting soon and I couldn't be in the audience. Not that anyone would have any idea who I was, though.....

OMJ you need to listen to the carter twins! they put a new spin on country. if i hadn't seen the vid on CMT i wouldn't have guessed it was country. search "heart like memphis" - carter twins. you'll like it.
