I am having trouble deciding on going with a Biocube kit or starting from scratch with a standard 29 gallon. Any recomendations? I want to be able to grow soft coral

what are the dimension of the tank?

what are the types and GPH of the power heads you have. I have a 425GPH powerhead in my 20 gallon tall tank and I think it's overkill. But am I wrong?

I'm guessing he spent 500$. I got everything at a discount, tank 29 gal, skimmer, 2 lbs live rock, 15 lb live sand (just enough to cover bottom), filter bio wheel, light and a stand for 350$ but I still need more rock and fish and power head

I LOVE this tank

how much did you spend on total?
is it true that power filters are harmful in saltwater aquariums?

Normally they aren't used in saltwater aquariums because they really are impractical. I used one mainly for surface agitation which helps with gas exchange between air and the water. I also had a bag of carbon in there to help with water clarity, but most people would suggest chemipure for that.

how many fish can go in a 29 gallon saltwater tank????

That question is really hard to answer. It all depends on the size of the potential fish you are looking at and the temperment of the species. Check out a site called nano-reef, you can find a lot of helpful information there.

nice looking tank - I have a 29g too with a 10g refugium. How much flow do you have? Are those koralia 1's? I have 2 nanos but think i need to upgrade... thanks

I actually had a koralia 1 and a koralia 2 in there for flow and it still seemed a little low. I like lots of flow in my tanks though.
