  • I was thinking of one pair of jewel cichlids for a 30 gallon long tank (36 inch long but think only 12 inches wide) . They will be only fish.

Do you think it can be done ot to dangerous for the female?

    thanks

  • @BrownDarter

Yeah get a pair and that will be a good breeding tank

  • That looks like a 20 gallon tank. Cool fish but that is too many cichlids for one tank man

  • @Gtwo13

I know was just a holding tank till they were sold :)

  • wow what guts that jewel has, I currently keep a 3" texas with my 11' Oscar and he holds his own no problem. Great video ty for sharing!

  • My Texas has really sharp teeth .. He has nearly taken chunks out of my hand a few times ... Thats why I wear leather gloves when i arrange his tank... The pet store never said they were like piranhas

  • i have one large neon blue jewel and 3 females in a 30 for now but they are going to a 125 with a pair of red texas chiclids

  • Thumbs up if u hate this comment

  • This is why jewels are annoying.

  • poor severum

  • carpintis could fight better than that

  • @CharleneStar if there from the lakes i can see your argument. but the jewel cichlid is from western africa. basically they share all the same water parameters. i have kept them together with no issues. as for south american cichlids, there not all south american. South american, central american. new world and old world. its a nice mix and probable went well together in a larger tank.

  • You're not supposed to mix South American cichlids with African cichlids....

  • Dayum protectin' the family jewels lol.
