I was so stunned to find in America about how people (esp. african americans) pick up on the facial features of an icon. stunned at the fact that it is even brought up. when you live according to the spirit which means seeking His kingdom and growing in Christ (deification) you look at an icon and immediately your soul is looking up at the heavenly things in prayer. however when u are not led by the Holy Spirit, you look at an icon as if you were looking at an art in the museum.

you have misunderstood me and misinterpreted the verses that you have quoted. Word becoming flesh in Christ and what i have told you are completely unrelated. what i am telling you is that the orthodox church has guidlines on what constitutes a proper icon. when an icon is in the church it has already been approved by the church fathers. never ever does it occur to us believers to look at an icon and see the texture of hair nor the color of skin.

Basically all i am saying is show the proper representatives/icons of the Holy Trinity as stated in His Word. This is why some have issues relating to Iyesus Christ, as pictures show them a picture of someone who persecuted them 400 years ago, but u may not overstand this factor. Furthermore One can not separate flesh and spirit although they are divided and remain together in all humans. i.e if u r human u shud still eat sh*t drink sleep, no matter how wrapped in the spiritual you are

Bottom line is whether or not you want to divide the spirit and the flesh, they will become one. Spirit over flesh, yet the Word makes a distinction between the two. Furthermore this brother here (described in Revelation) has a two edged word from his mouth = the tongue of truth. He also arrives at the end of this world. Which shows a direct link to the passage of scripture 'I am the First and the Last' Rev 1:17.

Yes what you are saying is completely correct; However The Word (which is spirit) became flesh in John 1:14. Revelation 1.13-15 And one like the Son of Man dressed in golden sash....with brass feet as one tried in the furnace.

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. But you (christians) are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. " - Romans 8:9.
