I'm a big fan of Epcot and have been going since it opened in 1982. It is my favorite Disney Park. I am sad by some of the changes they have made to the rides and how they did away with some wonderful songs.

This is the original Universe of Energy Theme song that played at the end of the ride after the educational movie. It's sad they did away with this song and most of the education and movie from this ride. This is one of the rides that filled me with so much wonder and Awe after it was over and the music just helped you feel that the world was so amazing and there was so much to learn about science. I didn't get that last time I went. So here's to sharing a little of the classic Epcot. Also these images have the original exterior before they changed the sign.

If you have photos from Epcot from the 80's and 90's please share them on my Flickr group called Classic Epcot.

  • @toysrmine37 HEhe, go for it.

  • Haven't been to Epcot since somewhere around 1990, but finally going back this fall. I always loved this ride since it opened. I still remember how misty and that certain smell it would be at certain points of the ride.

  • @nismoblue That's great. Hope you have fun. Yes it always had the most unusual smell I've never experienced anywhere else. I wonder what it was?

  • I was first there in 1989 and had the CD with the attractions theme songs: Tomorrow's child, the land, universe of energy, electric parade, tiki-room, imagination, etc. Does enybody have it? Thanks :-)

  • @antoniocb27 That's where I got these songs from.

  • Nuclear energy is not evil unless it's ran by evil people who will try to go around maintaining it to save money.

We need more Nuclear power plants to provide clean/stable energy but hire competent people who will actually do their jobs with strong pressure from the Feds to keep it safe.

The mainstream media will not tell you this but those power plants in Japan were overdue for maintenance and there was actually a newer model that was built that would've avoided the cooling rod problems.

  • i just discovered this song on my ipod and i lovvvvvve it so much!!!!!!

  • @nismoblue They exchange it with Ellen Degenesis energy ride.

  • @Ralph123x I wouldn't say it's terrible... I think the queue area is in line with old Epcot and the take-off and design of the cockpits are just this side of Epcot/Any other theme park, but when you get into space it'd be great if there was more AWE AND WONDER for the fact that you are IN SPACE. That's what old Epcot is about. Sadly, instead it's about more cheap thrills, loud noises, yelling at you to 'go left! go right!' etc., typical of the ADD riddled theme park guest of the 21st century.

  • Horizons is another ride that I miss. That ride represented the essence of Epcot. Mission Space is terrible.
