@Lastofthefreenames Perhaps I have not set up the scenario properly... I have always prefered to discuss things like this in person. I seem to have problems properly getting my point across when I must write it. What I mean however is that people who stand up against tyrants and are killed because of their refusal to kneel are, in essence, made into martyrs are they not? I do agree that the song is filled with misunderstood symbolicism though not in the same manner as you.

@TytusTolshemLives Hmm... from my understanding being a martyr does not mean you cannot stand up for what is right... I would actually argue the opposite. To me, being a martyr is standing up for what you believe in. The definition of martyr is someone who is killed or persecuted for because of their beliefs and their unwillingness to change them correct? So, if say, I invaded a small village and made an example out of those who refused to bow to me, would those people not be martyrs?
