@rtds9fan its a song that originally came from HBCU's, notably the popular ones, grambling and southern. With them being from louisiana as well, LSU was more likely to be influenced. Now more and more major colleges are playing it!

@rtds9fan neck is actually called talking out the side of your neck. its just kinda a common songs for marching bands to do covers of. lsu's band started playing it in 2007 then it got banned for a while because our student section came up with lovely lyrics haha. they've been playing it a lot lately and everyone goes crazy because its so much fun!!

I couldn't help but bust out and laugh like wtf lol. Now you go check out Jackson State University or Southern University "Empire State of Mind". @showtimeband85....U may be rite about 1 thing. They pack the stands to see the Band because thats the only entertainment yall got. And I wouldn't say they're killing LSU because LSU and Jackson State have 2 different styles. Its like comparing apples to oranges. I can give you a good comparison of what LSU could do to a HBCU Band........Look up Madison Scouts 2011 - Empire State of Mind (HD) Listen and then Look up any HBCU Empire state of mind. Most Well trained musicians will Prevail.

Is there any conference in the nation that has this much solidarity? The SEC is like the classic brother rule. We can say anything we want to about our own teams, but we better not hear any other conference running one of our teams down.

@jrobe84...The majority of the HBCU marching bands are killing LSU band. I attend Jackson State University and the marching band there is killing Lsu band. And lastly the fans aren't packing the stadium to see LSU marching band they are there to see the football game, unlike my school Jackson State University, fans pack the stadium just to see the band perform!!!

@Nizzletwank Even little old SEC school Kentucky (known for basketball excellence) has been to 5 straight bowls and has beaten the likes of Clemson and FSU - UK holds up the rear but holds it up nicely.

Hell, even in the SEC, UK has beaten #1 LSU, hosted Gameday against Florida, beaten Arkansas twice, Georgia twice, South Carolina and at Auburn - again, even our lower teams can play.
