jakko14 .... we are all in agreement that there are other cruel things done to animals all over the world, however dressage is supposed to be the pinnacle, the ideal, how things SHOULD be done. This way of training is a BAD example to younger, more novice riders - let alone the fact that the horse is not correct as far as the FEI rules are concerned : Hind legs trailing, broken at third vertebrae (during the test), broken at about the 5th vertebrae during training!!!

ilovemusic - Maybe you should go back to listening your music! Open your eyes and you will see that this is not abuse. Look at the big picture. The horse is not under weight, the horse does not appear to be stressed in any form, he is doing a brilliant job of riding a stallion in a very busy warmup. Think about it !

i think its very stupid that many people from other countries are writing letters to the FEI about this and complaining and spending alot of money into investigations of the use of hyperflexion when they could be using that money and time to be saving the starved skinny horses who have no food and water or any care what so ever. Its absolutley rediculous. There is no abuse in this riding, if the horse wasnt happy the horse is more than capable of bucking the rider off in the dirt !!

What your talking about is physical care- mental, emotional and physical care is required for ALL living creators to 'live' happily. This kind of neglect- and it IS a form of neglect, should not be tolerated at world class events. This is the responsibility of the event organises to not allow this kind of thing to continue!

And what BIGGEST care did this "rider" give to the horse during this warm-up??? Yes, right.... Putting its tongue BACK.... No release, no reducing extreme tension in everything... "It is still runnung, so it's ok heh?"....

Alright. And what about imagining life with CONSTANT pain in the body? In the neck(because of too big long lasting inner damages which worsen with every training as nothing changes) In the tongue gums and all the mouth because NOTHING changes from day to day??????
Best level of care? - Food, yes. Roof over head, right. But a COUPLE of h a DAY walking outside of the stable, no possibility to occupy the horse's mind during the rest of the time. Lack of natural movement + those "trainings" back...

I love my horses, like all of you....but I don't think this horse looks at all comfortable and there is something just not right about a horse cantering around with it's tongue hanging out. Let a horse be a horse!

@ jaccko 14 : maybe you are right and some horses have a worse life, but that doesn't mean that this isn't abuse, because it is! can you imagine what pain these horses have and what hyperflexion does to their body?? if you knew that you would never say that that isn't abuse! people like you who close their eyes and try to find excuses, which aren't reasonable at all, don't make the situation better! do you really think that getting the best care imaginable includes hyperflexion?? think about it!

Get over it the lot of you! This is not abuse! why dont you go to some backyard horse owners who strave their horses and dont give them food or water or any attention at all, i think then you would be seriously horrified. Think about it, these horses at the highest level get the best care imaginable.
