Mrs. Frittoli and Gubanova have sung a duet with a great emotional intensity. Barbara Frittoli, whose pianissimo are one of the glories of our time, could convey the score in a very special way.
Frittoli was the star, floating spine-tingling high Cs in the ''Dies Irae'' and showing the necessary power and heft when she had to without sacrificing tone.
For more that 20 minutes the audience have cheered with applause calling the singers and Maestro Baremboin back on the stage again and again.

La Frittoli è stata la star, ha saputo far librare nellaria do acuti da far venire i brividi nel Dies Irae e ha mostrato potenza e autortà quando è stato necessario senza alcun segno di sacrificio.

Gubanova is certainly the star here - wonderful voice, superb phrasing, very steady vibrato. Frittoli is a good singer but her vibrato is a bit worrying, strays off pitch occasionally.
