i wish i could play mozart like this. i have been listening to uchida too much lately. it makes me feel so nitpicky about my own playing that i do not have any fun with it anymore. this inspires me again

I don't there is anything romantic here, or choppy, or too lyrical. As for improvisatory embellishment, that is absolutely part of the classical style, folks. Find Robert Levin's interview on here someplace on improvisation. There is nothing here out of style, per se, although it may not be to your taste.

mi fanno ridere i commenti che tacciano questa interpretazione come eccessiva per mozart! soltanto perchè qualcuno vi ha inculcato nella testa che mozart è uno che fa musica galante per salotti settecenteschi da suonare con misura ed equilibrio e tutte le stronzate discorrendo.... ad es. non c'è nessuna differenza sostanziale tra il secondo tempo della sonata k 457 di mozart ed il secondo tempo della patetica di beethoven quanto ai rapporti armonici ....

Very lyrical - perhaps too lyrical. Certainly not your everyday, Hollywood version of the music.
While I might disagree with what he says, I admire the way he says it.
